I know they’re getting pretty tough now and will start impacting a lot of Russians, even the more wealthy.

Will it actually stop the war though? What will it do?

(I know nobody can actually tell me the future I’m just trying to work out where this is all getting to).

I think the idea is to get the ordinary Russians so pissed off that they overthrow Putin. Don't know if it will work!

LadyNell · 08/03/2022 21:08

The ordinary people will suffer, Putin wont give a shit in his ivory tower...as said hopefully they will overthrow the bastard

I have seen ordinary Russians think of suicide now as their livelihood has been taken away. It is not easy to overthrow your leader when you have the threat of 20 years in prison hanging over your head for simply protesting.
Copenhagenoffice · 08/03/2022 21:15

Yes, how would the Russians go about it in a police state?

lorking · 08/03/2022 21:21

Well some don't realise that Putin is in the wrong so it may make them question.

Iamnotamermaid · 08/03/2022 22:56

It may help by destabilising the global economy, which the Chinese will not like as it will impact theirs, so they may actually pull a finger out and have a word in Putin's ear.

What is it like for the ordinary working & middle class Russians? I'm see nothing about how their lives have changed. I know the sanctions are in place but how are they affecting normal folk?

Tigersonvaseline · 08/03/2022 23:03

Each small thing will affect each russian in some way.

It's a police state.
It's bloody horrific!

However, revolutions have happened with these same threats but people had much less the one thing people have is power in number's.

Feelingthepinch22 · 08/03/2022 23:10

I feel so sorry for the peaceful protesters across Russia. I think the ogliarchs will still have their billions but the normal folk will ultimately bare the brunt..
