Semantle episode 3

Somehow we've almost filled 2 threads already so here is thread 3. I still need a distraction from the news, and Semantle certainly fits the bill.

To understand what I'm on about followthis link. It's a word game like Wordle in that you need to find the secret word of the day, but it works by semantics. So you input a word and it will tell you how close you are. You have infinite guesses.

For example, one of the secret words was 'costly' with expensive, cumbersome and burdensome being the three closest words.

I have 924 and 938 but can't see or find a link 😑

My only greens were 596 and 779, when I couldn't find anything similar to the latter which helped the solution was my first guess of trying to find words you'd use with it. I'm surprised it wasn't higher ranked.

I solved Semantle #43 in 121 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of 13.29. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #21. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 67.51 (998/1000). semantle.novalis.org/

Both those are really not helpful, sorry 😐

Stuck at 996 😣

924 is really random 938 makes sense in the context of some of the other words, but is not necessarily that helpful in and of itself.

I was stuck on 632 for about 150 guesses. Then my 10 year old came and told me he had 944, then we got it in about 2 goes from that.

Some of the words people are stuck on are ones which might be used in the context of the solution, rather than a very direct relationship.

No, it's not, and I wouldn't have said it was very related. If you were in a (small) 992 what sorts of interactions might there be?

Think of it as an action rather than an ambience
