Somehow we've almost filled 2 threads already so here is thread 3. I still need a distraction from the news, and Semantle certainly fits the bill.

To understand what I'm on about followthis link. It's a word game like Wordle in that you need to find the secret word of the day, but it works by semantics. So you input a word and it will tell you how close you are. You have infinite guesses.

For example, one of the secret words was 'costly' with expensive, cumbersome and burdensome being the three closest words.

I solved Semantle #41 in 110 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of 7.39. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #102. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 7.04. semantle.novalis.org/

Once I hit (stumbled) across a green I got it in 8 guesses but there was a lot of random guesses before I got the first green word.

I feel like this should have been easier than I made it.

Hmm, this is actually something of an anticlimax.....

I had missed the obvious... I had three guesses in top 10 and 9 in top 20!

Got it in 26! Such a lucky 7th guess took me into top 1000.

I got really lucky with a high green early on today, and then the theme seemed pretty apparent, so it was a lot less frustrating than some. Phew!
