Bus travel in Coventry questions

TangerineClay · 07/03/2022 22:39

Are all buses in Coventry contactless? If so is there a cap for 1 day of travel, or are we better off buying a day pass? Can a 17 year old get a discounted 1 day travelcard without living in the area and having a local bus pass? Thank you

You can buy a day saver for £4 which has unlimited travel around Coventry. If you're paying by cash you'll need the exact change. Don't know about a 17 year old I'm afraid.

Thank you

@Appalonia or @Babysharkdoodoodood can I be cheeky and ask if either of you (or anyone else of course) know about parking too ? Grin

I need to go to Coventry Central Hall, (evening time if that makes a difference re parking) and the website suggests parking in the 'Quadrant Business Centre' . Is that a retail park, or a place where people can park without restrictions in the evenings ? Are there likely to be spaces?
Bonus points if anyone knows about charges / how to pay.
Thank you so much.

Hi The Quadrant isn't a retail park, it's a few offices with some parking ourside! I had a quick look for you and I found this:

Car Parking

On-road metered parking is available both opposite the Quadrant on Warwick Road and in Greyfriars Road. Alternatively use the Barracks multi-storey car park accessed via Greyfriars Lane which is a five minute walk from the Quadrant. Please note you are not allowed to park within the Quadrant during office hours.

Also, from Central Hall website:

Parking
Whilst we don’t offer on-site parking, there are several places to park within 3 mintues walk of our venue, including The Barracks multi-storey, and New Union Street multi-storey car parks.
For evening events after 6pm, you can find plenty of free on-street parking, or park across the road from Central Hall at the Quadrant.

You shouldn't have too much difficulty parking in the evening tbh, as the city centre isn't terribly busy at night!I

Hope that helps.

That's brilliant. Thank you SO much for taking the time and trouble to help me.
I don't know Coventry at all so was starting with the assumption there probably wouldn't be much parking.
Thanks again

Appalonia · 09/03/2022 00:28

No probs. No one ever mentions Coventry on here, so it was a bit of a novelty tbh. Happy to help and have a great trip! The cathedral is worth a visit if you've got some spare time.

TangerineClay · 09/03/2022 00:31

We'll probably visit the cathedral. Looks like there's a few museums. Might look for a nice park
