What were your childhood interests/obsessions?

I'm Autistic so I don't use the word obsession lightly but regardless of what you care to call it, what things did you love as a child?

Books were my main obsession. I almost always had a book in my hand and when I didn't I'd read cereal packets and shampoo bottles.

Insects and wildlife were others. I had a bug hunting kit and I was always looking for different species, particularly spiders, which I adored and still do.

Horses too, as is true of many girls I think.

Later I loved Boyzone, BSB and other boy bands. Then when Riverdance became big it and Michael Flatley became another obsession and my Tom Cruise phase started about then too.

Natural history for me too, I loved insects especially moths, I would make lots of notes in big notebooks of observations, I could spend a whole day happily watching birds or counting how many insects I could find, and I would write it all up.I read every book on animals I could lay my hands on.
I also loved hunting for fossils and for seashells.
Reading too - all my pocket money went on books.

I still love all the same things now, with a few extra interests - I'm 62 and the fascination with wildlife has never gone

Worms! Used to make my DGF dig the garden so I could look at them wriggling in and out of the soil
