car insurance - where do I start?

Hi there

Newly separated so doing this for the first time alone! Have gone onto comparison websites but I'm confused. What are the sorts of things I 'need' to include in my insurance? Any suggestions? Thank you so much.

Look out for compulsory excess and voluntary excess do you lose your keys? Get key insurance and windscreen cover depending on the car my previous car was £137 for a new windscreen this car is a heart attack so it's on my insurance! if they offer RAC cover check if your premium goes up more than breakdown cover wouod cost you anyway

Are you getting your no claims transfered over? You need proof of how long you were on your marital policy from your old provider even if you were a named driver it still counts I've got over 5 years due to my then husband putting me on even though I wasn't even taking driving lessons at the time because I lowered his premium I got 6 months for every year as a named driver

Do you want to include a courtesy car, if yours is off the road.
