Weird elbow blister, what is it?

For about the fifth time I've woken up with a 10p sized blister right on the tip of my elbow. It's sore to the touch.

This has happened in different countries, 4 times on my elbow and once on my arse. What the hell causes it?

No sign of a bite, no potential injury, could it be a spider or something? Anyone had anything similar??

If you’re waking up with it, could it be pressure related from sleeping awkwardly somehow? Sleeping on your front resting on elbows for a while?

Scarby9 · 07/03/2022 22:13

Mine was bursitis.

@Scarby9

Mine was bursitis.
This

If it's burisitis, be warned if it bursts you'll be in agony

I don't think it's pressure as I've previously had one on my arse!

scarby9 it doesn't look like bursitis either, mores fluid filled blister the size of a 10p

I was going to say Housemaid's Elbow or Tennis Elbow, but I've never heard of Housemaid's Arse! Wink
Whatever it is I hope you recover soon.

It's friction burns / carpet burns...... Try not to have sex on bedroom floor

And don't drink so much you don't remember it

I get this when I sleep on polyester sheets (which is literally never these days). Very grumpy skin + friction. I apparently use my elbow to turn over in the night.

Dh had this - his really blew up. It was called olecranon bursitis, and it can be caused by pressure - his plane was delayed on the tarmac, and he was leaning on a hard arm rest for more than 2 hours - the doctor reckoned that’s what caused it.

He did have it drained by the GP, when it got really big, and it has recurred once or twice, but never as badly.

Hmmmm, maybe I have the elbow version of the Princess and the pea and need to upgrade my sheets?

Doesn't explain the arse blister though!!
