Ankle pain after covid

I've just had a bad bout of covid and isolated in my bedroom away from my teenage children. I was bed bound for about 9/10 days. Since I've recovered (3 days ago) my left ankle is really painful and hurts when I walk/ stand on it. I think it's due to not walking for the period of time that I had covid. Has anyone else had this? I've got it strapped up now to help, but it's still really painful!

I'm 16 days post positive test and my right ankle feels really sore and weak. It feels like the bloody toothache. Thought it was just a coincidence, but after googling symptoms, it seems that joint pain with covid is a thing. You have my sympathy 💐

Maybe ask your GP about post viral inflammation. I had hip problems after a nasty viral chest infection at the beginning of winter. It took ages to settle down. I was prescribed anti inflammatory drugs and took a couple of sessions of physio to try help with strengthening.

Did you have a childhood injury or an injury on your ankle a few years ago that’s healed?

I remember people on here saying that their injuries that had healed years prior started hurting again after covid or the covid vaccination or both. I can’t remember tbh. Only that it was said.

Could it be that?

It's strange isn't it? Though in a way I'm relieved I'm not the only one. I'm going to see how it goes over the next few days and potentially try to see a doctor about it.

Years ago at university I went through a phase of always twisting my ankle after a few too many beers ... But that was 30 ago!.

Was it the same ankle, as that’s exactly what people were saying. Ancient injuries hurting again for no apparent reason!

Yes, as @Elieza says, I had Covid December 2020 and it seemed to find every injury I'd ever had and make it hurt again for a short time. My weak knee, my sprained ankle from 2010, and even my broken wrist from 1977! It was weird!
