If you get a non speed related driving fine, where do they get your info?

I keep getting fines for my ex h
Driving in bus lanes etc
Where does he need to change his info so they go to his house instead?
I always presumed it was the dvla but he updated his driving license months ago
They also have his name spelled wrong when it's correct on his license
They're definitely for him though

Car registration document? Check that's all correct. They can find his address via his numberplate.

Gizlotsmum · 06/03/2022 08:02

Has he changed the registered keeper address on the car?

Sleepeatrepeat · 06/03/2022 08:02

It wi be from the vehicles registration. Who is on the v5? It is likely you are down as the owner or ag least he hasn't updated the address on it

It'll be the registered keeper of the car. If it's still yours on paper, they'll keep coming to you. Cameras capture the VRN

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 06/03/2022 08:02

Is his car registered to your address?

fedup078 · 06/03/2022 08:03

At right thanks
Yeah that'll be it
It's not registered to me but he won't have thought to change the address

National police database the information provided by the Dvla so if their information is incorrect the ticket will be incorrect too.

Of course he's thought to change the address. It's basic 101 of car ownership. He's stupid enough to think that if the car's not registered to his current address he'll get away with multiple driving offenses.

Send the letters back to the DVLA and write on the outside of the envelope that the person who owns the car no longer lives there.

Hopefully it will fall into a 'non compliant' pile and if they're in anyway joined up (a big ask, I know), they'll be able to find and catch up him from his driving licence and recent change of details.

Cameras.
I once got one for driving in a bus lane in a totally unfamiliar area - too busy looking for signposts to notice that I wasn’t supposed to be there.🙁
