Anyone had the pleasure of Kidney stones?

I woke up this morning, had a wee and got back into bed. Suddenly had excruciating pain in my side. I've never had pain like it and I've had 4 babies!
I was then sick half a dozen times.
Rang 111 who got GP to phone. He thinks maybe kidney stones or infection but wants to send urine to the lab.
Surely he should give me antibiotics and then re assess when urine has been tested?
The pain comes in spasms but has calmed down a bit now after strong painkillers.
I can honestly say I've never felt so ill in my life!

I wouldn't assume the stone has passed if you're still experiencing pain, no matter if it's milder. I think the tubes the stone moves through can vary in size, so it may be that the stone is moving through a larger tube, hence not such bad pain.

I did pass my stone, but that wasn't til about a couple of weeks after the pain had stopped.

The GP is phoning me back tomorrow with lab results so I will have a chat with them then.
