Safe to travel to budapest next month?

My son and his girlfriend booked last month to go to budapest in mid April. There both looking forward to the break.
I am a bit apprehensive.

Is it safe to travel?

I would follow whatever government advice is at the time, but think that if Hungary is involved in the conflict at the time then it means things would have escalated significantly and it would be pretty serious for us here in the UK too.

Safe as anywhere else in EU.
