How many loads of washing for a house of 2?

We usually have 4 ...

1x darks
1x lights inc 2 bath towels
1x bedding
1x socks pants boxers which get tumble dried
In winter a wool wash every other week.

Is this excessive for 2 adults in one house? All done on eco setting but lights are 60 degrees eco.
I keep seeing posters saying they only do one load a week - how ? My bedding and towels would be an extra load!

2 a week: one coloured, one white. That includes the bed linen (bottom sheet and pillow cases weekly, duvet cover fortnightly) and the towels ( white bath sheets weekly, hand towels more often).

Occasionally an extra one if too much with the towels or I want to wash the dressing gowns.

I'd say up to 3 a week. 2 loads of clothes at least.

I do about one a day for 3 adults

2 loads a week for 2 adults. We have an extra large machine so we can fit quite a lot in it.

@Marmelace

I wonder how many loads of washing you can get out of a chicken?
And how many loads constitutes a massive salad?

I think I probably do 6 a week, and there is two of us. But thats two beds stripped every other week. The white load is not normally full.

MangoLipstick · 15/03/2022 12:22

There are 3 of us in our house.
I do about 5 loads a week.

Towels/bedding together x1
Dcs clothes x2
Dh clothes x1
Mine x1

On average, one load every three days. Whenever there's enough in the basket. Bedding is always done on its own, but (bathroom) hand towels and bath towels go in with coloureds and darks. And (kitchen) hand towels and teatowels go in with lights.

It's also weather dependent. So this week I washed one load yesterday and one today, and everything got line dried. The laundry basket is now empty and will fill up over the coming week. Two of us, 8kg machine, everything on an eco 40° wash. Separate tumble dryer, which I try to avoid using if possible.
