How many bridesmaids are you still friends with?

Got married 15 years ago and only speak regularly to one bridesmaid. No big fallings out with the other 2, just drifted apart I guess, but wondered what would be different if you were to get married again tomorrow

Both my adult bridesmaids and a witness remain my best friends about 13 years on.

One witness drifted away a few years later. His relationship broke up and he decided to suddenly cut the whole friendship group off. He'd been a school friend.

Crimesean · 03/03/2022 17:30

All 4 - I speak to them all regularly, although we don't all live in the same vicinity (or even the same hemisphere Sad)

MrsTimRiggins · 03/03/2022 17:33

I had three. My two sisters who I have good relationships with, and that remains so, and my best friend, who has been such since I was 4, and there’s no change there either.
Probably wouldn’t ask my sisters again tho, they were such hard work 😂

My bridesmaids were my sisters and SIL so am still friends with them all.

SoberSerena · 03/03/2022 17:34

I had three; my sister, dh sister and a friend. I'm still good friends with the friend and we are godparents to each other's children. The sister and the sil I am less friendly with but you know, family and all that

MrsMoastyToasty · 03/03/2022 17:39

All 4 of mine. Two are my sisters and the other two are DH neices.
I have lost contact with the friend who read the lesson (it was a church wedding).

custardbear · 03/03/2022 18:04

3 still friends out of 4. The 4th always was mean to a friend, targeting them, being spiteful behind their back. I guess it was my turn for her to start being horrible so I just didn't bother with her anymore, no loss as she was really a bit of a bullying cow really

bananaboats · 03/03/2022 18:06

3 out of 4 and I only got married last year!

ICriedToDreamAgain · 03/03/2022 18:14

Sometimes wish I’d stuck with family only- 2 single brothers made it a bit harder though!

It’s funny- at the time you think these girls are the best friends you’ll have but I guess life moves on.

One. The one I had. It was my sister!

PurplePansy05 · 03/03/2022 18:21

3 out of 5 are still my BFs, two are still friends but we talk occasionally (it just loosened up, no particular reason).

RestingMurderousFace · 03/03/2022 18:21

Only had one, she 'died suddenly' in 2012. I'd love to still have her in my life.

Chardonnay73 · 03/03/2022 18:24

All 4! Maid of honour (sister), bridesmaid 1 best friend, bridesmaid 2, cousin, and flower girl, different cousins daughter. All very present in my life and I love them dearly 😊

Snowred1 · 03/03/2022 18:28

I was married 20 years ago. Would still have the same two as I’m still as close to the friend and the other is my sister in law who I’m more closer to now years have passed. I would just add another 3rd as I have a friend who I met about 3 years ago snd she too is one of my best friends.

ChicCroissant · 03/03/2022 18:28

Two of my bridesmaids live overseas now so one I don't see at all and the other I don't see very often. Other two bridesmaids were family so I still see them. Still in touch with them but social media isn't as good as going round for dinner with the one I never see now, for instance.

ChicCroissant · 03/03/2022 18:29

Been married for over 30 years, if that's relevant.

pupcakes · 03/03/2022 18:32

All of mine except my niece, who was 16 at the time but has grown into an adult I'm not keen on- makes me really sad though.

EventuallyDelighted · 03/03/2022 18:34

I only had one as I didn't have any close female relatives or many female friends back then. We are still close. I'd probably have another close friend and my SIL now as well.

MrsBerthaRochester · 03/03/2022 18:36

None. My bridesmaids were my sisters who Im no contact wuth and my flower girls were my nieces who I no longer see due to marriage breakdown. Not arsed.

JaninaDuszejko · 03/03/2022 18:40

One was my sister so I obviously am still in touch with her. The other was my best friend from school but she lives a few hundred miles away from me now and I have 3DC and so we haven't seen each other for a few years but still exchange Xmas cards etc. Middle aged life is very focused on your children's social lives and holiday time is focussed on visiting family. Looking forward to the children leaving home and being able to visit friends at the weekend again!

KitKattaktik · 03/03/2022 18:42

I sister, 2 cousins and a family friend's daughter. None of whom I'm in touch with.

HirplesWithHaggis · 03/03/2022 18:50

My only bm was my sister, we're still speaking. Grin But I haven't seen (or heard of) my flower girl since the day, she was there as a favour to a friend. She'll be in her mid forties now.

This has, however, prompted me to go stalk dh's Best Man. We lost touch with him after he married an absolute harridan... Shock

ICriedToDreamAgain · 03/03/2022 19:07

So sad, puts things into perspective x

So funny how different it seems to be with men. DH would quite happily go months without seeing best man and there would be no issues whatsoever, missed birthdays etc would be water off a duck’s back!
