Does West actually take Putin’s nuclear weapons threat seriously?

I was surprised to come across this article in FT: [[https://www.ft.com/content/e12976cf-59be-414e-b90f-56875df79753]] There is no information anywhere in media or at work about what to do in case of a nuclear attack. At work it is still all about Covid and masks in the office.

Depends where you work, but what are you expecting most workplaces to provide in terms of nuclear attack information?
It's not really within our HSE guy's remit!

For most workplaces and most people, there is not a lot we can do to prepare (and I don't think it is at all likely anyway).

It will need testing. It will cause panic

Ultimately everyone will want to head home/pick up kids

Realistically there will be little warning BUT I feel he could play with us a bit. Like now, there's a threat. He might up it. Use more direct threats,with veiled references like ' from next weekend you will be no more' for example

So nobody wants to go to work and we all fully panic

I don't think he will go that far unless his game is up & his people are trying to overthrow him.. My impression is once's he's a gonner we all are... Not very helpful sorry but I do think if & it's a very big if he goes down he's taking us all with him unfortunately...

Personally if it was a real possibility that we were going to be nuked I’d like to try and get vaporised, not piss about to ‘survive’ and have my face peel off in chunks.

Putin loves Russia. If he attacks with nuclear weapons then others will retaliate with the same and bomb the shit out of Russia. Putin doesn't want Russia annihilating as then he's no country to control. He may be mad but he's not stupid enough to go nuclear.

Just like Family Annihilators love their kids? If he decides Russia has been hurt/damaged too much I can see that a nutter such as him might believe everyone is better off dead.
