What are you looking forward to in Spring

Following on from the two lovely “making Autumn/winter more bearable” threads, I thought it might be nice to look ahead to Spring. Current news is rather bleak, so would be nice to see some snippets of joy.

In the first instance, I’m looking forward to seeing my tulips come into bloom. Also the first cut of the lawn - both for making the garden look tidier and for the smell of freshly cut grass.

My bluebells coming out and then the bluebell walk through nearby woods, as they come out later.
DC home from uni for family gathering with roast lamb and simnel cake on Easter Day.
Cherry blossom and magnolias out in our village and nearby park
Having lunch outside again
Oiling the garden furniture - my favourite job

Oh yes, forgot about the cherry blossom.

I hate oiling garden furniture - if you fancy an afternoon in a different garden then just shout 😃

Excellent - I’ll provide drinks of your choice along with snacks, which can be taken on the swing seat - no oiling required for that!

Yes to longer evenings - only 3 weeks to go until the clocks change

I’m rubbish at photography and I seem to scare away the wildlife 🤣

Sunshine !!!!!

balalake · 03/03/2022 20:17

Light evenings.

AnybodyAnywhere · 03/03/2022 20:21

More walks, sunshine and not having to wear a bloody coat, or a million ‘layers’ everywhere!

FaceLikeASlappedAss · 03/03/2022 20:26

Mowing the lawn.
The washing on the high line without too much fear of rain and unpredictable weather. I dry out all year as and when but love in spring
De weeding and jet washing the hard areas.

Devonchills · 03/03/2022 20:26

The warmth of the sun on my skin.
Hearing the birds singing at dawn.

teddybearsbear · 03/03/2022 22:11

Sitting on my garden bench having a coffee
Not having to wear my big coat and boots
Birdsong on a morning

I love spring!

MarshaBradyo · 03/03/2022 22:15

My garden has many blossom trees and I love this time of year

Warmth and lighter nights

Socialising in the garden if warm

Agree re not needing a coat

elliejjtiny · 03/03/2022 22:21

Drying my washing on the line instead of in the house. Playing with the dc in the garden and at the park without getting wet and cold.
