WWYD about this box of stuff that's arrived despite me cancelling the order?

I set up a monthly subscription to something from a large-ish company halfway through February. The contents and theme of the February box looked amazing and perfect as a gift for a family member whose birthday is next week. Their website said that I'd get the February box sent by next day delivery if I signed up by the end of the week. After signing up, I got an email welcoming me and saying my first box would come at the end of March. I emailed the company to check this and they apologised and said they hadn't updated the website. So I cancelled the subscription, and they said they'd refund me for the February box that I wasn't getting after all. This was all done on the same day that I signed up and I thought that was the end of it.

Except today, the February box turned up by courier Confused with no advance warning/dispatch email (I'd have tried to cancel the delivery had I been told it was sent out!) And on checking my bank, they have indeed refunded me 2 weeks ago on the day they said they would, and the subscription is definitely cancelled.

WWYD? Tell them so they can send a courier to collect it? Or just keep it because their own crappy organisational skills are to blame anyway?

(Value is around £20 btw, if that makes a difference)

Keep it and enjoy the freebie, their mistake!

I'd tell them and say they can arrange a courier at a convenient time to you. If it's only £20 they will probably give it to you anyway as it wouldn't be worth the cost and hassle getting it back. But least then you'd know and not risk any hassle later.

I'd keep it but this is Mumsnet - who generally would insist you hand over a pound coin at the local police station because someone could be looking for it

Isn't this the box you wanted and would be a perfect present for a family member though? If it was the March box I'd say just forget about it, their fault for still sending it but as this was the product you actually originally wanted I'd contact them again and say oh it's turned up which is great thank you but you refunded me 2 weeks ago so is there a way to do a one off payment for it as you'd rather not subscribe.

This. I saw pages of people calling the op a thief yesterday, after an eBay seller mistakenly sent her a bottle of perfume and she refused to send it back at her own expense 🙄
