I set up a monthly subscription to something from a large-ish company halfway through February. The contents and theme of the February box looked amazing and perfect as a gift for a family member whose birthday is next week. Their website said that I'd get the February box sent by next day delivery if I signed up by the end of the week. After signing up, I got an email welcoming me and saying my first box would come at the end of March. I emailed the company to check this and they apologised and said they hadn't updated the website. So I cancelled the subscription, and they said they'd refund me for the February box that I wasn't getting after all. This was all done on the same day that I signed up and I thought that was the end of it.
Except today, the February box turned up by courier
with no advance warning/dispatch email (I'd have tried to cancel the delivery had I been told it was sent out!) And on checking my bank, they have indeed refunded me 2 weeks ago on the day they said they would, and the subscription is definitely cancelled.
WWYD? Tell them so they can send a courier to collect it? Or just keep it because their own crappy organisational skills are to blame anyway?
(Value is around £20 btw, if that makes a difference)
