Passport renewal

Hi all,
Looking to book a holiday soon. Wondered if anyone had done an adult renewal recently and how long it took? Thank you :)

Mine was about 3 and a half weeks, I did the renewal online at the end of January. Once they received my old passport it was done quite quickly.

Did mine via post office fairly quick about a month I think.

Mine was 10 days, but I delayed the process by bit sending my passport on straight away.

I did mine from the states and it took 4 weeks inc postage there and back. The kids ones however are at week 5 and don't seem to be moving forward. It's a strange system...I sent all the passports and know the date of arrival via the recorded delivery, one passport was logged as received but the other two were logged as received over a week later. Strangely the last one logged as received has been renewed and received back first!

I filled in the online application on the 14th Feb and posted the old one the same day

Exactly one week later I got a text to say they had received my old passport

And today (literally 2 hours ago) I got a text to say my passport is now dispatched using TNT delivery.

How long did it take to receive supporting documents back? It says two weeks but mines been longer and I can't get through to speak to anyone.

I did mine recently. Sent it feb 21st had my new one by about the same time in March. However plenty of people online in the forums complaining that there's is getting dumped into "processing" and then sitting there for ages.

If you need a new photo I would recommend going to one of the places that takes it for you and gives you a code- it's only another £10 and I genuinely think that's why mine came back so quickly.

They are taking forever to acknowledge supporting docs so make sure and send those recorded so you can at least evidence that they got them if there's an issue.

@wurlycurlywurly my supporting docs came back approx a week after I got my passport. I was starting to wonder where they had got to tbh
