Best place to donate for Ukraine

Anyone have ideas? Are there some known (obviously legit) places that need the money right now?

I’ve donated things but happy to donate some money too.

The above goes direct to Ukraine - please research it.
Ideally military/medical support, as neighbouring countries are offering the practical help for the refugees.
But also more “normal” charities.

This will get taken down by MN for ‘crowdfunding’. Mine did. Good luck- I went to FB instead for the info.
There are some sad posters about!

There is a comprehensive list on the BBC website. There may also be some community groups near you.

Google it, but the charity Lumos is doing an appeal and this is what they say is their aim.

Right now, our team is working with families and children trapped in orphanages to provide emergency food, hygiene and medical kits, helping to evacuate the most vulnerable, providing psychological support to children impacted by the conflict, and supporting families, foster carers and emergency foster carers. But we need your help.

This is the charity J. K. Rowling founded. Baroness Nicholson used to be involved with it. It's all about children in orphanages - ideally, getting them out and into good foster homes. Sadly, looked after children in Eastern Europe have tended to be consigned to orphanages since the Soviet era. They also now work in other parts of the world.
