I always find these threads soothing. We've got:

Cheesy chicken, zucchini and rice casserole
Sheet pan chicken sausage and veggies
Crockpot tuscan lentil soup
Tortellini with garlic clams and shrimp
Leftovers
Spinach and Butterbean stew (and Oatmeal cookies!)
Blackened chicken chop salad

Fri: home made pizza
Sat: chicken tikka masala and pilau rice
Sun: roast chicken, stuffing, roast potatoes and veg

Monday: Mushroom and blue cheese gnocchi
Tuesday: Tuna pasta bake
Wednesday: prawn and tomato harissa pesto pasta
Thursday: beetroot risotto
Friday: paneer korma
I don't plan for the weekends as we sometimes eat out or go to one of our parents, but at some point I'll do a veggie chilli

We did! It's the law in our house on pancake day

Pesto chicken with roasted tomatoes, broccoli and new potatoes

Not sure what he's got planned. There's lots of sausages in the fridge though 😂

Qwaszx · 01/03/2022 21:32

I don't think I've ever planned a weeks menu in my life! I view it from the other way round. Once a week or so I buy the veg that most catches my eye, then each morning, I have a look, see what's there, today was broccoli, and pick something from the freezer to go with it. Tonight was sea bass. I just make it up as I go along.

At the end of the week, I might shove all the veg odds and sods into a fried rice type thing. Or a tray bake thingy. Or a soup. Nothing gets wasted.

That's as far as my planning goes. I like the surprise element🤣

TheChosenTwo · 01/03/2022 21:34

I did pancakes for the dc for breakfast and had made 3 times the amount of batter so there would be enough for them to have pudding too! But no, I hate the idea of pancakes for dinner, they’re not filling (eggs water and milk and then a load of sugary fillings) and mine wouldn’t like savoury ones.
I do! But they don’t.
Plus the sugar wreaks havoc on your blood sugar and would leave all 3 of mine ravenous an hour or two later for a proper meal Grin so they have them for pudding. Lots of them with very delicious fillings!

MissyB1 · 01/03/2022 21:38

I’m another one who got up at silly o’clock to make pancakes. I was mixing batter at 6am.

Leftleg · 01/03/2022 21:43

We have pancakes every weekend so haven't bothered today.
Monday - Chicken and mushroom pie with mash
Tuesday - Chip shop
Wednesday - Home made pizzas
Thursday - Jacket potatoes
Friday - Creamy mushroom pasta
Saturday - Home made chinese curry
Sunday - Roast dinner

Thenthatsthatthen · 01/03/2022 21:46

I did a load of batch cooking at the weekend so we can eat well for the next few weeks:
M: Florentina traybake for some, mushroom stroganoff for the rest
T: Jerk "beef" casserole (used fake beef for the veggies) and green beans
W: Homemade spinach pesto pasta with sundried tomato's
T: Something tofu based (stir fry maybe)
F: Vegetable biryani
S: Breakfast casserole
S: I'm going to make a pie with mash and veg.
