Mine has gone through needing a drink/ poo etc routine and I left him in bed with Alexa on. Popped into the kitchen to make pancakes (aware is day early I have no self control), came out 10 mins later to hear hysterical sobbing. Worked out between tears he is upset because "I wish you had a best decorations again" before more absolutely shoulder shaking wails.

I've worked out he's talking about a bauble I had out of a pack at Xmas that he emptied the glitter out of. I didn't even really have a go at the time,just told him it was my favourite and he had broken it. According to my now snuggled downstairs (because I am a soft touch) child, that was enough that he "thinks about it all the time" 🤷‍♀️ funny, sentimental little pickle.

Any one else's children have a ridiculous reason to have wriggled out of bedtime tonight?

Dd6 is still up. We've had the following: I'm too excited (not sure what for), I'm not excited enough, I'm not tired, I'm cold, I'm hot, I'm hungry, I'm thirsty, I've nothing to cuddle, I've too many teddies, the cats laying on me, I've got no cats with me to cuddle, I'm too tired to sleep, I need a wee, mum you're making too much noise in the bath, mum why are you having a bath, mum I need a wee again, I now need a poo.

She's currently in the bathroom. Been in there 10 minutes. I just shouted to hurry up and she replied indignantly "do you mind?!"

My 5 year old got out of bed to tell me one of his toe nails was too long and it needed urgently clipping

I can’t stand the feel of my toenails on bedding so I have been known to get out of bed to clip them!

Chicken pox....he's also given it to DH
