Clothes which are too clean to go in the wash but been worn

What do you with clothes after you've worn them once, but know you aren't going to wear them for a few days at least? At the moment I put all of these clothes on a chair, bit the chair gets piled high with random things. Is it ok to put them back in the wardrobe? Or is that disgusting?

I too have heard that the freezing thing is for cashmere/wool - things that are natural fibres and delicate for regular washing. The freezing is supposed to kill odours.
I wash my cashmere on a cold delicate cycle in the machine!
Regarding the clothes to be worn again, I have a drawer under my side of the bed where those clothes live! Often empty but sometimes a pair of joggers or a hoody that I’ll wear again but not ‘clean’. Fine for around the house though.

Special chair or floordrobe here. But am WFH so mostly it gets worn until it's washed. Never back in wardrobe - bacteria in sweat, apparently. I would never remember what I'd worn and everything would get mixed together. So for me, unworn clothes only in the wardrobe! I like the idea of hanging up lightly worn clothes in a separated area in the wardrobe but mine is far too stuffed for that.

Mine go on the floordrobe.

Mine go on a chair or in a drawer I have specifically set up for this. This is a relatively new development though as we now have wardrobes!

Back on the dirty washing basket …they get worn again!

I pop them in the tumble dryer with an anti static pad for 5 minutes. This freshens them up and removes any wrinkles.
While I'm discussing my sneaky laundry tips ... if, say, only a collar or hem (not whole garment) needs a press, I do so with my hair straightener irons. Anything to save hauling the bloody ironing board out.

Hooks on the back on the bedroom door

Mine go in a box that slides under the bed.

I'm 58. I've never had a problem with moths. I'll very happily rewear clothes. They'll let you know when it's time for a wash. I don't feel the need to segregate totally clean clothes with worn once or twice. If they're fresh/ clean enough to wear again. They will be worn again. Sniff test innit?

autumntimebrowns · 01/03/2022 20:33

If you think that sweaty bacteria multiply and spread between hung clothes I think you need a biology lesson

MinglingFlamingo · 01/03/2022 20:53

I have a chair or have a drawer for scruffier items, so can go in there. Depends on the item tbh
