Why/when did you start believing in God(if you previously didn't)?

I'm the opposite i.e. I used to believe, but not anymore.

I've previously asked about the reasons people stopped believing, and got lots of interesting answers. I however think in some ways, that question is a lot easier to answer, after all faith requires the absence of evidence.

It's probably a lot harder to explain why you became a believer? So I thought I would ask.

(If anyone is wondering why I stopped believing, long story short...I refuse to put my faith in anyone who would ALLOW the world to exist in it's current state. I don't care if all the atrocities are due to the evil actions of men or whatever, I just believe any 'all-powerful' being who just sits by and watches, is surely a bit sadistic?)

Anyway, why did you start believing?

I'm also the opposite. Raised in a C of E school and when I was older I read some of the Bible. It temporarily turned me agnostic but since then, very VERY much atheist!

I was raised religious, lost my faith a bit in my 20s, now mainly back on board.

For me, I just think that there is a lot of evidence that Jesus existed, and no convincing argument as to why he would have acted the way he did if the New Testament weren't true. So ultimately, for me, the existence of God doesn't make sense but it makes more sense than Him not existing.
