Bottomless brunch

Went to my first one recently with a few friends. Dear Lord I didn't realise how constant the flow of drinks would be...in 2 hours we managed 7 drinks each! I could not do it regularly. Had a good time though.

@ClariceQuiff

PurpleDaisies It's what people are describing on this thread, under the term 'bottomless brunch'.
That’s “bottomless brunch”. I don’t think “brunch” in general includes alcohol. I go out for brunch a lot and I’ve never seen standard brunch with booze.

I love a brunch but I find them quite dangerous!

I always get legless (by 4pm) and when the brunch finishes I end up going out out. Which never ends well!!!

I can’t cope with the idea of getting shitfaced with my breakfast!

I always imagine brunch to be mid/late morning but perhaps I’ve got the wrong end of the stick

Brunch is just a word.
Words have to mean something. Otherwise not call it a bottomless extractor fan or bottomless plunger.

Jesus people need to get over the use of the word brunch in the context of bottomless brunch. Much like lots of other words, it s use has evolved and now has other uses aside from its original meaning.

I think most people understand that I’m current times a bottomless brunch refers to an event where you eat food and have unlimited drinks. Usually lunchtime or early afternoon.

Is it?! I’d call that lunch then??

I being boringly middle aged and doing one that is 2 choices of food dvd then either unlimited soft drinks or extra £15 to include alcohol.

But I just want juice /latte etc so going for that version

I too am wondering where you went and what you did afterwards?

The only way I could see it working is when say a group of dads say Football dads (their sons play football) go abroad for a long weekend, say to Benidorm, stay in a hotel for a long weekend and then go out one day for said long brunch.

then can go back to the hotel and sleep it off and meet later in the pool? other than that if you're in the UK how would this work? you be legless and trying to get home on the train?

I generally find drinking in the day the best thing ever until I try and get the bus home and find the paranoia that everyone is gawping at the pissed woman two seats back, sobers me up horribly quickly then I'm a bit grumpy when I get home. And proceed to eat salty snacks like my life depends on it Confused

Spare a thought for my DD who turned up at the restaurant where she works on Saturday nights to find they had a bottomless prosecco session going on without telling her. She works on the bar but the orders have to go through the waiting staff. Cue lots of pissed customers going to the bar, telling my DD they'd run out of prosecco and demanding more!
