Why don't some people see what is right in front of them?

I have definitely been guilty of this. When I look back on things, I think 'How did I not see what was right in front of me?'. I also know other people who have said the same.

Has anyone got any ideas why this could be?

Because its not what they want to see.

Sometimes the truth/reality is too hard to acknowledge.

Do you mean physically or metaphorically?

Physically - because I don’t pay enough attention

Metaphorically - because you get so wrapped up in a situation that you only see the positives sometimes
