It's a guess the actor one

DH and I were both reminded of someone when watching someone else last night but neither of us can identify him.

He is probably late 60s now. Yorkshire accent with a gravelly voice. Very jowly cheeks. Bald or little hair. Always plays characters who are cynical, sad or just generally unimpressed with life. I'm sure he's been in loads of things.

LazyMareofEastown · 26/02/2022 15:28

The age is off though.

Alun Armstrong.
Not him but definitely similar. That's the right vibe!

Who was the someone else that you were watching?

Someone very minor. Doesn't even have a photo on imdb. We were watching Case Histories and it was this guy - www.imdb.com/name/nm1289388/

Neither I'm afraid. Both in the same area though I think

George Costigan? Was in Line of Duty

JellybabyGina87 · 26/02/2022 15:36

I'm thinking of an actor who died a while ago who fits your description but I can't remember the name so no good. He looks like the one who played a teacher off Waterloo Road though. Mr Budgen I think.

JellybabyGina87 · 26/02/2022 15:37

Pete Postlethwaite, thats what I was going to say

DappledThings · 26/02/2022 15:38

Not George Costigan. Just looked up Waterloo Road and that guy is also very similar but not it.

Blimey. 142 credits on imdb and I've never known his name till now. If I'm ever trying to recall him again I will bring Slade to mind!

BonusJonas · 26/02/2022 15:43

Brian Glover?

CeleriacOfTheNight · 26/02/2022 15:44

I knew it was him immediately upon reading.

But I didn't know his name, or what he'd been in. I've just been cursing you for the last 10 minutes scrolling through cast lists for gritty Yorkshire tv/films Grin

Ha! In my mind he is continuously calling people daft buggers but I think his range is somewhat broader.

So satisfying to have an answer.
