I know you can only buy 2 packets of paracetamol at a time but yesterday I put 2 packets of ibuprofen & 2 packets of paracetamol on the belt & the cashier only allowed me to buy 1 of each. Ibuprofen are anti inflammatory so not the same as paracetamol. Was the cashier wrong? I work on a till & would let someone buy what I was trying to buy.

You can always buy two packs from the in-store pharmacy, then put another two packs in your trolley.

That works well.

Looks like @Louisianagumbo and I have found the loophole, then - Asda's Scan & Go.

This is a CHAT forum. We chat about stuff. Including stuff you can google.

And, having a chat about a subject gives you more info than a simple search, anyway.

Please may I respectfully suggest you're in the wrong place if you have an issue with this.

That’s standard. I work in tesco. The tills won’t allow you to override either. It is a pain, but it’s just life. I’m surprised you hadn’t realised this before to be honest.

Staffy1 · 26/02/2022 14:22

Sainsburys online only allows me two painkillers. I added two ibuprofen and it wouldn’t allow me a calpol as well as it says “maximum of 2 for this type of item”.

RewildingAmbridge · 26/02/2022 14:41

Cashier was correct although it sometimes feels foolish, I was prevented from buying ibuprofen, lemsip and capol, the latter clearly not being for me. I asked if I went out to the car could DH come in (sleeping baby in car) and collect the Calpol, cashier said no and if I tried it I could get banned from Tesco!

OhWhyNot · 26/02/2022 14:41

I wasn’t able to buy laxatives along with two packs of paracetamol recently

No big deal I only bought one pack of paracetamol

Another one here who has bought 2 pks of paracetamol and 2 pks of ibuprofen together while using Asda’s self serve tills.
I needed the paracetamol and DH needed the ibuprofen.
The only reason I remember it is I asked the lady who was supervising the tills if I could have that much and she said she didn’t know and to just try it and see.
Even she seemed surprised that it worked.
