Quick question about dental hygienist appointment

I have an appointment for a scale and polish, but it's in the middle of the day. Would it be okay to go out for lunch immediately afterwards, or would I be advised not to eat for a few hours? I haven't had this done for a few years.

I think I would eat beforehand, wait 20 minutes and then give my teeth a really good clean before the appointment.

It really doesn’t matter x

Will they be using anaesthetic? If not I'd go to lunch with your shiny clean teeth!

I am not a dentist but have had a lot of work done on my teeth over the years.

It's fine. Go to lunch.

It's fine to go to lunch. I had the same this morning and came home and had breakfast.

I've always been told to avoid eating for 30-60 minutes afterwards. I think that's because they use a fluoride treatment.

Littlemissprosecco · 25/02/2022 13:46

If they put a fluoride treatment on it’s no eating or drinking for at least half an hour
