Snap buying a car

I'm fed up with my car the boots too small and it's a bit basic. We bought it when I left a job with a car and I needed something, it was bought for cash and looking at trade in value it's pretty good .
I've decided I want a car I had years ago (civic tourer) as it's easy to drive and has an enormous boot. However as it's a Honda it's held its value. Do a lower mileage but 6 year old car is still 16k ish. Also they seem to be automatic on the market and I prefer manual. We can buy on using the part exchange on my car and still have savings left, also we have no debt apart from the mortgage.
Should I buy a car because I want something better and no because I need one?

Of course.
If you can afford it then why not have the car you want? And actually it sounds like you need the bigger boot space as you are missing it.
And don’t write off automatic, try it. I would never go back to manual having had auto for several years now.
