Dd2 weird symptoms - allergic reaction?

Before I start don't worry I'll be calling the gp if this doesn't push off in next 24 hours.

Dd2 is 9. On Tuesday she went for a day at local stables - lots of stable management stuff and a lovely hack out. She's not a regular rider but she has been before couple times though pre covid.

Dd2 or dd1 never shown symptoms of pet allergies in the past. Dd1 also went to pony day she's fine.

When dd2 got home she said her forehead hurt. I thought it's just being unused to the riding hat - she wore a stable one.

She's still complaining her for head hurts and the skin is now dry and rough. She's got a rash below her ears and under her chin.

Dd2 also quite under the weather and tearful saying it hurts. I've been giving calpol and piriton which seems to help a bit but she's not getting any better. Face sometimes looks bit puffy and blotchy. There's no bruising whatsoever.

Never seen anything like this before with either of my children!

Any thoughts?

It sounds like an allergy to me, hope the gp can help.

Any perfume allergies? Could be someone prior to you DD was wearing perfume while they wore the helmet (sprayed on neck/behind ears).

This morning the rough skin has spread into her eyebrows and on to one cheek. Still feeling rough but insisting on going swimming later....

Very much sounds like one. My son has anaphylaxis to horses. I’d never heard of it before he had skin prick testing for food allergies, and the horse reactivity tested even higher than the nuts and kiwi that nearly killed him. He’s fine with other animals. We have a long-haired (currently shedding) dog that’s almost as big as a horse. Luckily he has no desire to be a rodeo clown.

It's not the cold weather is it? . I can get those symptoms of I've been outside in the cold for too long, almost like wind burn .

Sounds like an allergic reaction. Keep up with the Piriton and a very close eye on her.
