Free day tomorrow - what would you do?

I last minute have a day off work tomorrow and not sure how to spend it. It's too late to make plans with people (and my friends will be at work).

What would you do? It's really only till the end of school day so will need to stay close to home but I don't want to inevitably spend the whole day doing jobs around the house!

I’m off tomorrow, Pilates, swim and driving range. All alone as my mates are at work!

What do you like doing?

Madmog · 24/02/2022 19:47

Maybe a potter around a nearby town, together with coffee or lunch in that town. If not, do you have a nice walk you can do and either take lunch to eat while looking at view, or eat out at pub on way? If not, just enjoy crashing out at home doing something you enjoy - in my case it'd be reading. Hope you enjoy your day.

I was meant to have a lovely child free day last week, however my youngest was unwell, so off school!

My plan was to walk into town (about a 50 mins walk) get my eyebrows done. Buy myself a nice coffee, browse some shops and walk back home. Bliss.....maybe next week Smile

Enjoy your day off!

Coffee, cake and a book and then whatever I fancy for lunch with a bit of telly. If I knew it wouldn't put me off my night time sleep, a nap before the school run Smile

I would have a wander along the little shops in my local high street, have coffee or lunch out, buy a cake from the expensive bakery I rarely go to and go home and eat it whilst reading a book. (Depending on what books I have available I may go to the library first to get a decent one out).

Enjoy your day!

Depends on weather - if a lovely day drive to lovely country town (about 49 mins away) , potter in shops, have a lovely coffee and almond croissant, buy some flowers or primroses for garden pots, - if my DH was with me would have lunch out

If bad weather lovely lie in with coffee and croissant With a good book on my kindle, followed by a leisurely soak , film I would love (not Marcel choice from DS !) and a glass of chilled wine

I'd nip to town for a few crafty supplies (I do actually need to do this, this coming weekend), come home & crochet in silence unless my new book arrived, in which case I might start that!

I more than likely would do some bits around the house too though, but not loads.

I have the afternoon off. I am going to a cathedral town; afternoon tea and evensong.

Wordlewobble · 24/02/2022 20:15

Depending on weather interests and energy levels. Nice walk or drive somewhere not too far that you don’t usually visit often or on your own and a potter about with coffee and cake out sounds nice.

If its a sneaky day and you don’t usually get the house to yourself a brisk walk whilst listening to some feel good music to get the heart pumping, get some supplies in for a cheeky lunch at home leisurely bath, body lotion, do feet, conditioning treatment on hair listen to a meditation tape and or slob around with a good book, listen to music or watch TV.

It's my birthday on Monday and I'm not working. My sons will be with their Dad and I have the day to do as I please. It's also payday which is a bonus but I have no idea what I'm going to do with myself. All my friends are working, as is partner, and I'm scared I'll end up doing housework!!

I'm going to take on board some of these suggestions - thank you OP!

I would either swim or cycle in the morning
Then pop into town for a nice brunch / lunch, browse some charity shops & maybe pop to the library

DollyPartBaked · 24/02/2022 20:23

Some great ideas. Unfortunately I don't live in the most picturesque of towns but definitely a trip to the bookstore.

Also DH is WFH at the moment (which I have been doing!) so being at home isn't the treat it used to be!
