Please educate me, what’s going on with Ukraine & Russia?

I haven’t been keeping up with the news, and now I am not sure what’s going on.

Can someone please explain it all to me, the whys and wherefores, and how the U.K. & USA are/could be involved.

It is all over the news. BBC website has a summary. Was being discussed on Radio 2 Jeremy Vine today. Probably easiest to Google your preferred news source.

There are several other threads like this and the answers are very interesting. Why not find one or two and have a read through?
