Whats something you wish you had known or would have done differently?

That when they have difficult feelings, it's more helpful to name their feelings and just listen to what happened than to fast forward to reassuring them or encouraging them to think about the other person before they've figured out how they feel in themselves.

That's a very good one! I will try to apply that in my parenting.

I wish my mum knew how terrible I feel for what I was like as a teen

That I would never be the same person again, ever. That the responsibility and constant being 'on alert' would never go away.

That my sleep would never ever be the same again, despite total exhaustion.

That there would be no help.
Financially should have stopped at 1, I had factored in that kids are expensive but stupidly I had not included the hit my pension would take due to reduced hours.

That you can literally give them all of you but they'll still scream and cry because you didn't get them a £30 smashers egg

The absolute constant fear that they will be somehow harmed. I had no idea.
