Zartbitterschokolade - what is it in english ?

I'm going to make a chocolate flavour gugelhupf from a german recipe. Looks a bit like a bundt cake in shape. It asks for 'zartbitter' chocolate. Just struggling over what it means. Is it just dark chocolate or something specifically german ? Or a chocolate with a very high percentage of cocoa solids like 80% ? Hope someone knows ! Thanks in advance !

Unsweetened dark chocolate with high cocoa content

MerryPoppings · 23/02/2022 19:52

70% chocolate would be fine.

It's dark chocolate with a cocoa content between 50% and 70%.

Zartbitter is dark chocolate, I normally take the Green and Black ones, you should try and get baking chocolate.

Can you post the recipe? It’s aeons that I did a Guglehupf and never with chocolate.

Ritter sport makes it and you can but it in London or probably online. It's basically 50% dark. Lindt dark will work fine.
