For the sofas? And any other ways to stay warm please? I've got an amazon cheap oddie. Preferably not too expensive please.

Thanks

Heated throws are very popular at the minute!

Imo you don't need thick blankets to keep warm. I bought some fleece blankets from QVC a couple of years ago, one for each family member. They're great and very warm. I think primark do some cheaper fleece blankets. I've also bought non-fleece, smaller ones from ikea on sale and they are great on top of the fleece ones.

Look for old wool blankets in charity shops or search on ebay. Nothing warmer!

Sherpa fleece blankets are our favourites. Got two from Asda recently £20 each for king sized ones. Plenty big enough to completely wrap yourself in, or to cover two (or more) people on the sofa.

Do they use electric though? I need to use as little gas and electric as I can for when the prices hike

Saw somebody mention Army surplus

Arghhconfused · 23/02/2022 21:18

Oh I hadn't seen or thought of that! That's a good idea. Thank you

Tkmax and Home Sense are great for blankets. I’ve bought some great 100% cotton ones that are fantastically warm without being itchy.

Asda does loads of fleece blankets for around £6 each. Not really thick but they are cosy and easy to wash and dry.

Try one of these if you'd rather not switch on the elec?

Don't get thick ones unless you're sure your washing machine can cope with them.
If you can afford thermal underwear it makes a huge difference

Thermosoft blankets from Dunelm (yes, the king size fits in my 8kg washing machine) Very warm

They are actually made by a German company Biederlack - you can find them on Amazon

Impatientwino · 23/02/2022 22:21

I have bought three of these in the last year and they are brilliant. Very lightweight but very warm and cosy. So soft to touch and are easy to wash and dry very quickly. Currently 25% off on Amazon at £11.99 each

I have an electric throw but I don't often turn it on. It's really warm because it's double layered. If I'm freezing I'll give myself a boost for half an hour but that's all it takes. They're worth the money.

We use budget duvets and they have the added advantage that duvet covers are machine washable.
