How many layers of clothing do you put on your DrySoon?

As in the title really! I do about four layers (e.g. four thin jumpers or t shirts) per rack, but wondering if it could cope with more?

Are you laying them flat across the bars?
I hang one top across two bars, so get 18 tops/trousers on mine, but I don’t layer clothes on top of each other.

Yes I lay them flat! I tried hanging them over the bars in various layouts but found that the bits hanging down never got dry, especially the ones on the bottom rack. Hmm

Sorry the Hmm face was at the DrySoon!

Then I Googled and found a lot of people think it's easier to lay them flat, which has been working really well, but just wondering how many layers I can get away with?!

Do you lay more than 1 piece of clothing flat per shelf? So on top of each other?

Timeforabiscuit · 23/02/2022 14:48

I've always hung, but left for 24 hours and its dry (draughty victorian house)- smalls and socks on the bottom, tshirts on the middle, heavy weight on the top (laid flat or spaced) so I'd expect a shelf of socks and undies, 12 tshirts, 2 jeans and 2 cotton jumpers dry in 24 hours.

I'm intrigued

I hang, socks on bottom, underwear in the middle, t shirts and jumpers on top. Then I zip up the cover, and cover that with one or two bigger items (a jumper, a towel...) which seems to speed things up. I tried layering, was not impressed.

I hang one item over two bars then pull the middle down a bit so they are in a M shape.

But I'm never happy with my technique and change it up all the time. I think I overthink it

Yes, currently approx four items of clothes laid on top of each other, then some pants/bras on top of that. I also use the dangly sock holder.

Maybe I will have to try six layers and report back! Grin

Wow I have never thought of layering them, I will give it a try. I normally re arrange every couple of hours so that each bit of material takes turns in touching the bars lol

I do up to 3 layers. Dries well and quickly if flat rather than hanging.
