Anyone know a good endocrinologist for Addison’s?

Just spoke to my doctor about suspected PoTS and am being referred to a cardiologist to get tested for that BUT he is insisting that it sounds like Addison’s and so, I’m also getting a referral to an endo.

I had already researched the former but need help identifying a London-based name for the latter.

Any help greatly appreciated! I’m so sick of being ill.

Prof Fausto Palazzo (at Hammersmith Hospital) is an outstanding endocrinologist. He looked after my mother for years (Hashimoto's).
Where's your cardiologist based?

Thank you for replying! Was looking for specific recommendations for Addisons in particular but I’ll check him out.

Not sure which hospital I’m going to see the cardiologist at yet but I’m not expecting to see them in the same place so that’s not an obstacle. Smile

Just to clarify - I’ll be going private. I know most specialists do both NHS and private but a few only do one or the other.

He does private work as well ABitOfA... Welbeck Street and the Cromwell hospital.

He's just so lovely to boot, which always helps!

It looks like adrenal tumours are one of his areas of expertise. And although this isn't your concern, thank heavens, Addison's is adrenal insufficiency. So I'd say you'll be in good hands with him.

ABitOfAShitShow · 22/02/2022 22:57

Yep - I’ve found his private clinic online. 🙂Strangely, there are no reviews for him on the usual sites though. You’d think in his position there would be tons! Thanks again, Vanguard.

Being very honest you will really struggle to find a specialist in Addisons as it’s so rare. Most endocrinologists do it as an add on and they will specialise in diabetes or thyroid issues! I’ve seen Dr Dhatariya privately at Spire in Norwich and he was very good but his main specialism is diabetic feet….!

Thanks, both!

I’m not on Facebook, seeking, but thanks for sharing. 🙂
