Harsh! I hope some of your own kids are kinder to you. My goodness.

I hope nobody you know has ever been subjected to the upbringing I had. I’m 63, I still remember being cold and hungry and bruised.

@Jvg33 and @HandScreen

"it is the parents who demand most gratitude who have done least to earn it".

That's a quote from the 1880's.

Another one:
"gratitude cannot be demanded but can only flow gently and freely".

Any parent who demands gratitude is bloody selfish.

So so true

The 'i birthed you, you owe me, to criticise is to be ungrateful' bollocks is the cry of the selfish, crap mother.

This is what I was trying to get across to one particular poster last night but the troll drum kept on drumming and I resorted to swearing 😂 Thankfully you have put it so much more eloquently.

I think I just mean, I wonder how your own kids will look back at you, and I'm sure you're all doing your best. Might be nice to look at people with a little compassion.
