Mine (entirely unreasonable) are:

When people say "hew-mous" instead of "houmous"
When people say "choritzo" or "choritho" instead of "chorizo". As someone who is half Spanish, yes I know it should have a "th" sound but if you're not also rolling the r it just sounds absurd.
When people in FB groups write "chock" in place of "choke". I see this all the time and I don't get how or why!!!

I daresay I have mine too: my mother told me the other day that I was saying "bald" as "bold".

The 'choritho' thing drives me crackers, and I'm not even Spanish. If people want to go around attempting to properly pronounce words not native to their language then they need to be consistent. Like restaurant, croissant etc. Why does the word chorizo get picked on?!

Boris Johnson voice makes my skin crawl!

People who use their and there incorrectly; I know it’s very easy to get it wrong but for some reason it drives me crazy

The entire government ? The world order perhaps.....I am angrier as I hit the perimenopause about most things.
I do wonder though if the spelling / mispronounciation thing is a kind of snobbery and don't really notice these days.

  • Hubby instead of husband.
  • Draw instead of drawer.
  • Queuing up in a cafe & getting stuck behind someone ordering frothy coffee & just the general obsession with wandering round with a coffee.
FuckThatBullshit · 22/02/2022 16:27

"Our little family" 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

TulipCat · 22/02/2022 16:28

Breath instead of breathe, as in "I couldn't breath". Gaaargh!

NightmareSlashDelightful · 22/02/2022 16:32

‘We’d love your feedback!’

You will receive my feedback through my continued custom. Or not.

Babymamaroon · 22/02/2022 16:57

WE are pregnant!! Grrrrr

Loose instead of lose. That one truly drives me potty.

Misuse of there/they're/their Angry

As above 'of' instead of have.

People spelling my name incorrectly when replying to an email WITH MY NAME ON. I immediately think the person is an arse with no attention to detail.
