Can anyone recommend a good saving app?

I see a lot of adverts for saving apps which make it easy to have little saving pots and automatically squirrel away change etc.

Does anyone have any recommendations please? Thanks Smile

Hiya, I've been using Plum for about a year and a half, and think it's pretty good, but haven't used any others to compare it to.

You can customise the 'rules' it follows and how aggressively, even on the free version. E.g. mine does a weekly round up (every transaction that doesn't come to a full pound, they round up to the nearest pound and put that away for me to save, so on a £5.50 transaction, Plum will take another 50p into saving for me). It also does a weekly save based on the amount in my account, so usually the payment just after payday is bigger than the one in the last week of the month, as it knows my balance is getting lower. I think I also have a rule where it automatically saves like £15 a week for me as standard on top of those other 2 variable amounts. I can also deposit chunks in there when I have some spare, and I find I'm less likely to withdraw those again compared to if I try to put money into my ISA. You can also change how much you want it to take in the automatic saving, I think I have it set to quite aggressive but I started on a much softer setting to see how I went with managing my money over the month.

I like it, and I'm only on the free version but with the paid one you can do more elaborate savings, investments and I think they can also look for better deals on insurance/electric/broadband if you want it to.
