Just starting to do some research as am thinking of a move. Would want it to be within an hour of Margate/ramsgate/broadstairs area. Looking for somewhere with lovely countryside walks, a few pubs and nice community feel. Budget about £300k and would like two beds and a garden. Don’t really know where to start! Anyone?? Thanks!

An hour of those gives you a massive catchment area so it would be good to have a better idea of what the other important points are. Do you want to be near enough to decent train links so you can get into London without too much bother? Coastal Village? Near to decent shopping (village shops are great for the odd thing but ruinous for a full shop)?. Nearer to Canterbury or Deal? We lived in rural Kent for a few years (it was my dream to have a place surrounded by countryside) but have moved to a larger town now since in real life it made everything like commuting, playdates, getting anywhere a bit of a pain. I quickly discovered I didn't like everyone knowing my business which was impossible to avoid in a small village!

I’d move to Fairfield.

(I wouldn’t move to Kent though, it’s way busier and more built up than I’m used to here).

Chilham is worth looking at.
