SoozyWoozy5 · 21/02/2022 20:30

Yes! I would…

Lranrwt · 21/02/2022 20:32

Is it just refined sugar?

Lazyi · 22/02/2022 06:33

Hi there. Good to have you On board Snoozy. @Lranrwt, I think each person should decide for themselves. I plan to avoid all added sugars including honey, syrups etc, but I will certainly be eating fruit and other natural sugars. I am also currently eating drinks with sweetener, and refined carbs, but will be aiming to phase those out over the. Ext few weeks. I just want some company to hold me accountable, because I am very much an all or nothing person and my default position is to eat lots of cake, chocolate and sweets to the detriment of my mental and physical health.

HelloDaisy · 22/02/2022 09:11

Can I join you please?

I seem to be living on cake and chocolate at the moment and it’s certainly not doing me any good!

Ohyesiam · 22/02/2022 09:17

I have found my people! When I don’t have sugar two things happen:

 1. I don’t overeat
 2. I don’t get hot flushes. I’ve not had one since I stopped Sugar on January 30 th.
I’m not giving up wine though, but I want to keep it to 2-3 glasses a week. We can do thisWink
Lazyi · 22/02/2022 22:23

Welcome @HelloDaisy
welcome @Ohyesiam

So, I had another sugar free day. Resisted kids birthday cup cakes and kids post pizza ice cream.
Had a shitty work day, but didn’t reach for the chocolate, so Proud. This is day 5 for me. How about you all?

Ohyesiam · 22/02/2022 22:29

Another sugar free day too. My mum offered me cake, my husband bought a box of almond magnums. And still I riseGrin

Chocolatelovingirl · 23/02/2022 00:02

Oooh you could try Chocologic chocolate or Guylian no sugar added chocolate! They're both sweetened with stevia and erythritol which don't have any calories or carbs and they taste like normal chocolate. But erythritol causes digestive upset for some people so be careful!

Lazyi · 23/02/2022 17:48

Well done @Ohyesiam. Day 6 for me today.
Thanks @Chocolatelovingirl. I am trying to avoid substituting with anything with artificial sweeteners. I am still drinking some “sugar free” drinks, but will phase these out a little later on.

@HelloDaisy and @SoozyWoozy5, how it going?

Day 2 - so far so good, but serious cravings..

There’s evidence that artificial sweeteners provoke an insulin response, and insulin is the hormone that tells the body “ store energy, lay down fat” Dr Jason Fung who wrote The Obesity Code has a video about it. I’ll try and find it.

Can I join serious sugar addiction I need to stop !

WindyHail · 23/02/2022 21:43

I'm doing fitnesspal. Reducing sugar alot and trying to stick to 1300 calories. I love sugar but I'm a stone heavier than I should be

Chocolatelovingirl · 23/02/2022 21:59

@Ohyesiam yes but stevia and erythritol aren't artificial sweeteners - they're both natural, stevia is from a plant and erythritol is found naturally in some fruit. They actually have no effect on blood sugar so no effect on insulin.
It's artificial sweeteners like sucralose (Splenda), aspartame etc that are bad for you and are probably what you're referring to.

HelloDaisy · 23/02/2022 23:10
**@HelloDaisy* and @SoozyWoozy5*, how it going?
Have had a big slip today so now feeling ill and that sets off my health anxiety.
Definitely back on it tomorrow and plan to write down everything I’m eating as that will help! I know how much better I feel when I am eating properly so will concentrate on that.

I expect you are completely right, that definitely rings a Bell.

Day 7 for me today. @SoozyWoozy5, what can help with the cravings? Fruit tea? Grapes? Any other suggestions peeps?

OP posts:
Lazyi · 24/02/2022 08:03

@HelloDaisy, sorry to hear you are feeling ill. Why I slip, a “fuck it” attitude takes over and the slip turns into a landslide where I eat loads of sweets that I don’t actually enjoy. I am a real all or nothing person. Don’t let that happen to you, get back on it and you’ll feel great again!

OP posts:
HelloDaisy · 24/02/2022 08:52

Thank you. That’s just what I needed to hear this morning and will keep me motivated 😊

Lazyi · 26/02/2022 00:29

Day 8. I did have a very small bit of cake icing. Bad me, but not going to let it derail me!

OP posts:
OnlyClothes · 26/02/2022 01:09

I’m in, even though it means delaying pancake day aka licking golden syrup off your plate day.

When does your 60 days take you up to?

I’ll cut out added sugar but I’ll still have fruit and savouries with sugar eg baked beans.

Lazyi · 26/02/2022 18:57

Hi @OnlyClothes, good to have you! I haven’t worked that out yet, just aiming to get there.

God I feel weak on 1200 calories a day Sad
