Teams meeting advice?

I have an interview this week over teams. It’s for 20 minutes. I can’t get home to use my iPad which I know works fine with my headphones in. I can only do this at lunchtime, on my iPhone and from the car.

The iPhone will use data but will it work? Does teams work with no wifi?

I’ve only used teams a couple of times and from home so a bit worried about using it away from home, for an interview and on my phone!

I’ll have my headphones with me.

It should work fine. I often do Teams calls on my phone. Could you test it out prior?

Or.. Tether your iPad to your iPhone.

Yep it definitely works fine, I do it frequently and sometimes take calls on it via Bluetooth when I'm driving as well. I never use headphones when using my laptop or my iPhone though, suppose it depends if you have a lot of background noise or not

It will definitely be okay. I sometimes have to join calls on my day off while I'm in the supermarket or at the playground with my toddler and it's always worked. Good luck!

I’ve got teams on my iPhone just make sure that you allow teams to use your data and you can do that via settings.

It will work fine, just make sure your phone has a decent amount of charge as I find video calls use a lot of battery especially if you’re using data rather than Wi-Fi.

Will you be using the video? Not sure background effects work on your phone and your car may not be the best background for an interview

I use teams to join the staff briefing on the way to work through my iPhone. Burns through data though so make sure you have big data plan.

A former colleague would sometimes join Teams calls from his mobile, if he was having a cigarette outside. He'd then walk & talk till he got to his desk and pick the call up on desktop.
