Switch and animal crossing for isolation? Help!

Can anyone please let me know whether two players can play a switch and Animal Crossing in particular? DC stuck in for half term yet again (Oct, Christmas and now Feb) due to sodding Covid. They and I are so utterly fed up. Is this worth it? Aged 10 and 12. 12 yr old is super fed up and lonely.

You can’t have two players at the same time on one switch but they could both play on the same island at different times I think.
(Have their own characters and houses)

Only one island and I think whichever player starts the island has slightly more control of the game. You can have multiple players on the island where they choose their own house and stuff. Multiplayer doesn't work at all, p2 basically follows p1 around without much to do. Luigis mansion 3 is a good multiplayer game on the switch.

You would all be villagers on the same island. Which is still fun. I'd just make sure the one who will play it the most is the first person to play. Definately a great game.

Zelda Major's mask is coming out on switch the 25th I think and I was around 12 when I started playing that and it's still one of my most fave games of all time.

There are loads of good two player games we have super mario party which is great like a board game with mini games. We also have Sports party which is good and mario kart all great multiplayer games.
Mario kart and Luigis mansion are also good single player games.

I think it depends on the type of switch that you get. If you get the one that comes with a dock to play on the tv you can take the controllers off and two people can play on the same switch. I'm not sure whether you can do that if you have the switch lite.

We like Mario kart 8, Mario party superstars and just dance for multiplayer games. I'm sure there are plenty of other options, we just don't have many games!

Ah yes we have the console version where you can play on the TV can connect up to 4 controllers I think in total for multiplayer. Dc have their own switch lites they bought with birthday and Xmas money they don't connect to the TV and are purely handheld.
