What would you recommend?

My Miele cat and dog cylinder Hoover has died. He was amazing. RIP.

I have mainly wooden floors with 2 bedrooms carpeted. No stairs and a couple of fluffy rugs.

I don’t think I want a chargeable cordless one.

My Vax is brilliant, I have a Henry but couldn't stand it , didn't pick up well at all and just gave me back ache. What the Vax picked up after I had just used the Henry was shocking.

We got ours from here. I love our Shark!

We had a Henry before but he was hopeless, DH bought a beater bar for the end of the hose which made it slightly better but even noisier. Awful thing and I hate it. He's been demoted to the garden office to suck up all the swarf and crap from DH's milling machines, serve the smiley git right.

Shark all the way... I was disappointed in it once but realised I'd switched it to hard floor when I was doing carpet. Switched back to carpet and it immediately sucked up everything in sight although the headlights seemed a bit reproachful

I thought I'd prefer a cordless vacuum but actually the corded Shark is fine, enough cable to do the job and no faffing about recharging. (The cordless Bosch Athlet was utter shit, it picked up bits of grit, looked at them and put them back down, like I wouldn't notice Angry)

I love that first go when you get a new vacuum and do a bit of floor that looked clean, but the vacuum's tank is crammed with dust and hairs, it's appalling but strangely thrilling at the same time!

I got a shark lift away a few yrs ago- utter crap, useless on hard floor but did pick up well on carpet... until after every use, it got clogged up! After 6 months, it has stayed under stairs.
Back to trusty Henry!
