My iPhone keeps ‘hot spotting’

Does anyone know how I can stop this happening?

Basically, whenever I switch my iPad on (when not at home and using my home broadband, my iPhone hotspot comes on so my iPad can piggyback off it. I manually switch of the hot spot but then a few minutes later the hot spot comes back on.

This seems to be a recent thing - any clues here as to how to correct?

Many thanks

On the ipad on wifi button click the ‘i’ symbol next to your hot spot and press ‘forgot this network’ and it shouldn’t connect anymore.

Are you turning off the hot spot on your iPhone or your iPad?

On your iPhone go settings -> mobile -> personal hotspot -> off

If you have already tried this, on your iPad try clicking settings->wi-fi->select the hot spot -> 'forget this network.'

I think hotspotting is one of the cleverest things ever invented. Looks like you have solution OP

Thanks, all. ‘Forget this network’ on the iPad seems to have done the trick 😊

Hmm - despite doing the ‘Forget this Network’, my iPad seems resolutely to default to hotspotting on my iPhone

Settings - wifi - turn off auto join hotspot

Thanks, @GenialHarryGr0ut - third time lucky!
