Failure of simple tasks due to anxiety?

Anyone else anxiety stop them from doing something simple? Mine was not being able to do breathing technique in a lung function test.

I had a lung function test a few weeks ago and every time I had to take a deep breath and blow out the lady conducting the test kept saying I catch my breath !! I practiced a few times with her and I kept making the same mistake and we had to end the test, results were inconclusive due to me but I need this test so I can proceed with my goitre removal op and a boob reduction op - which both have been declined by the anesthetiser due to my results

I think part of my problem was I had anxiety and found the test conductor really patronising and waffling and she did try to help but I couldn't do a simple breathing technique!!

Anyone else had similar experiences where simple tasks have failed due to anxiety?

Can anyone help on the breathing technique for the lung function test?
