Good Chinese in China Town

Taking my children age 6 & 10 to London to see a musical. Any good restaurants that you could recommend in Chinatown?

DD is a vegetarian and loves chow mein (her favourite dish).

DS is super fussy but will eat egg fried rice and chicken balls.

I’d prefer dim sum or bao buns. I’d actually like a Vietnamese restaurant but don’t want to disappoint DD.

Anywhere that would suit all of us?

Ah I miss the Wong Kei!

Sorry you are probably in the theatre now! We had good dim sum at Plum valley for Sunday lunch but either book or get there before it opens.

Ah, this is when I miss Poon's!
Used to love that place.

Jay Rayner recently reviewed and recommended a restaurant called Food House.

JuliusSneezer · 20/02/2022 08:16

Thanks for the recommendations, it’s next weekend we are going.

I’ve had a quick look and I can’t see sweet and sour chicken balls or chow mein on any of the menus. I can see lots of things I’d love, but I know my children aren’t very adventurous when it comes from deviating from what they eat!

My dh took dd earlier this week. No recommendations of places but make sure you've got cash on you because very few places in Chinatown take card and the queue for cash was huge.
