Beds abroad with a toddler

We are looking to book our first holiday abroad with our 3 year old - woohoo!

Every place we've looked at seems to be a twin room with a sofa bed. Is the is the norm? We are looking at spain btw

Seems a pain to have to do a sofa bed everyday and I'd much prefer him to have his own bed. Is this not a thing?

What do others do?

You upgrade to a 2 bed apartment to get extra beds.
Wouldn't the child get the twin room, with a door to shut at bedtime, and the adults convert the sofa-bed after spending the evening in the livingroom?

We always brought a blow up bed to put next to our bed.

The ones we've looked at hasn't given an option to upgrade to 2 rooms. That would be ideal though
