Suggestions of things to do with toddler when recovering

I’ve been ill for a week. Nothing serious but haven’t been able to eat very much so fairly tired, weak and run down. Toddler was stuck in all of yesterday with me being poorly and was poorly last weekend too so didn’t do anything. I’m trying to think of something we can go and do, preferably indoors as I don’t think being outside for long will do me much good.

They would love to go to soft play but are still a bit little so I’d have to go in with them and not sure how I’d do.

Anyone got any ideas please? Or do I just suck it up and go to soft play?

DH is now sick so can’t help.

If you don't feeling to going out, I suggest you stay in and do something that will help you recover. Your toddler probably just wants to spend time with you and won't really care what you're actually doing.

Are they old enough to enjoy playing in a den you make? Their sheets over chairs make cushions inside

If you have firm sofa cushions they can make a great indoor slide for a toddler and an anstacle course for them to crawl / toddle around - hide some toys for them to find, getting them moving to burn up some energy

Water play in the bath - bring lots of toys / cups for Poiring and splashing, balls to float a bob in. If you have some food colouring that will dye the water for fun is a great too. Fill empty shampoo bottled for squirting

Building blocks - knocking down what s made against and again

Train sets / tracks also a big hit

If you have a room with a hard floor and a couple of table tennis balls, make it safe and let toddler and balls loose. Sit against the door with your camera Grin

These are great ideas! Thank you. I had it stuck in my head that they’d be desperate to go out but you’re right, they probably just want to do something with me. We have some big foam tennis balls we can get out! She needs a bath at some point too so bath play works too! Thank you!
