Starting to get worried about cat

Kept him in all day because of weather but he slipped out when dh got home, been out for nearly 3 hours with no sign which is not like him, normally he's either in the car park next to the house, reappears after an hour or so or comes when called but absolutely no sign of him, still very windy where we are so starting to get concerned

He's probably sheltering somewhere out of the wind. Mine did the same earlier, neighbour found her in their kids playhouse. She refused to move until the wind calmed down a bit and is now home. Try not to worry, hopefully he'll be home soon.

Holidaylover20 · 18/02/2022 19:06

Hopefully he has found shelter somewhere and will be back home very soon.

Sideswiped · 18/02/2022 19:10

He's probably tucked himself away somewhere once he realised how horrible it is outside. He likely won't come back until he feels safe to come out (sorry, I know you're worrying!)
If the wind drops go out and call him.
If not, the likelihood is that he'll be at your back door tomorrow morning giving you the look of 'where on earth have you been?'

I hope he’s not too frightened, and that he’s home soon.

Atourwitsend · 18/02/2022 19:51

Still no sign, been out calling him starting to get concerned now

Well he just appeared but as soon as I got up to lock cat flap he ran back out, I'm sure he was laughing at me the buggerGrin. Hopefully he'll soon be back in for the night

Beautiful

LadyLolaRuben · 18/02/2022 21:16

Glad he's home safe

MissHoney85 · 18/02/2022 21:18

Ours was pestering to go outside all day, I finally gave in and let him out this afternoon and he reappeared literally two minutes later with a bird, then half an hour later with a squirrel! So I think it's good hunting weather for them.

Georgeskitchen · 18/02/2022 21:29

I'm pretty sure cats do this deliberately to manipulate us mere humans. Mine is scratching to go out now, but no way is he going!! 🤬

fortunenookie · 18/02/2022 21:33

This morning One of my cats managed to get out of a window that obviously blown wide open
Several hours of hysterical calling and searching later she appeared on the car bonnet crying. Freezing cold muddy paws. Starving.
Think she has learnt a lesson
Little sod

Sideswiped · 18/02/2022 23:34

Well, that's one cat who has you wrapped round his little claw, @Atourwitsend!
I'm glad he's back. Smile

LittleEsme · 18/02/2022 23:55

Kept my two in when theyre usually fed and let out at 6am. Little sods legged it passed me when I opened the front door - 5 minutes later they were doing back flips on the front lawn, chasing leaves and each other and tearing around the drive, having a whale of a time. I managed to bribe them in, hours later, and they skidded in wide eyed and highly strung. Been snoozing ever since - knackered Grin

Ellmau · 19/02/2022 00:13

He was probably annoyed because you kept him in earlier.

SwissCheeseRentedChildren · 19/02/2022 10:23

Aaaaw!

Your cat caught a squirrel?!

I'm impressed!

MissHoney85 · 19/02/2022 20:00

He's ridiculous! He's Burmese and only a little thing but he's pure muscle.

thegcatsmother · 19/02/2022 21:12

Mine took one look at the weather yesterday and retired to the spare room for the day.
